1. Measuring Resistance

At first, connect your digital meter to the circuit. Now take the black probe and insert it into the common terminal. Then take the red probe and insert it to the volts and ohms market terminal. This terminal is also used for measuring the diodes.

• Now set the selector knob to measure resistance.
• Turn off the circuit’s power.
• Now remove the resistor from the circuit to get the accurate reading.
• Now touch both tips of the probes with the resistor’s each side.
• Check the display, note down the unit.

2. Measuring Voltage

At first, connect your digital meter to the circuit. Now take the black probe and insert it into the common terminal. Then take the red probe and insert it to the volts and ohms market terminal. This terminal is also used for measuring the diodes.

• Now set the multimeter for measuring voltage. If your meter has auto-range function, you may not to select it manually. If it doesn’t have auto ranging function, you should set between, volts DC or volts AC corner.
• Place the problems on the component to measure AC voltage. You don’t need to observe polarity, if you are measuring only AC voltage.
• If you are measuring DC voltage, you should observe the polarity.
• Now take the probe to the negative side and take the red probe to the positive side.
• Finally, you will get the result. Check the display to see the result and note down it.

3. Measuring Current

Before measuring the current unit, you should ensure that the current is whether 10 amps or 300 milliamps. If are not still sure about the current, then you can start setting it to 10 amp terminal.

• Now turn off the circuit power.
• Take the multimeter to the series of the circuit. Attach the red probe on the positive side and the black probe on the negative side.
• Now turn on the circuit power.
• Now read from the display to note down it. The current unit may be represented by “A” alphabet.
